Kasongan Village Clay Potteries

                Kasongan village, near Yogyakarta, is known for traditional clay potteries.  In there, you would see most of the poeple are clay artisant, with their natural talent.  Formely, they only used the very traditional method of production. 

                Later, better ones are implemented, but still very much involving hand skills.  You still could see the clay modelled by hand, fired, decorated, and processed further, until it becomes a fine quality product.  Many kinds of goods are produced, which most are household ones like moneyboxes, vases, animal figures, and many others (natra.freeservers.com).  I went there in mid September (09’) and here are some pictures of their works.
